GRANDPARENTS' RIGHTS

Many grandparents worry about losing contact with the grandchildren when the parents separate. Although not actually referred to in the Children (Scotland) Act, grandparents can and do go to Court for a contact order to be able to see their grandchildren. They can do so as they are someone who has an interest in the child. Many are of the view that it should be made more clear in the Legislation that grandparents should have specific rights to keep contact with grandchildren.

McIntosh McTaggart can help grandparents get rights through the Courts under the present system and fully support the moves being made to give grandparents actual rights in law. www.grandparentsapart.co.uk
