Anne
McTaggart, senior partner of McIntosh McTaggart, has been a practising
solicitor since 1976. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland
as a Family Law Specialist and Solicitor Mediator. She graduated from
Aberdeen University and has spent her entire working life in Aberdeen
city, initially within a couple of medium sized firms, then joining Stronachs
in 1986. She was appointed an Associate in 1988. The emphasis of her work
moved from general litigation to primarily Family Law and she was assumed
a Partner in 1994. Over these years Anne has gained an excellent reputation
throughout Aberdeen and the surrounding area as a most highly experienced
Family Law practitioner.
In 1993, Anne was one of a small number of Solicitors who trained as the
first Family Law Mediators in Scotland. She was a founder member of the
National Mediation Organisation, CALM, serving as its National Secretary
for a period of 2 years and on the National Committee. From its inception
in 1989 Anne has been a member of the Family Law Association of Scotland.
She was a Committee Member before being elected last year as Vice Chair
and is due to take over as Chair in November 2003. www.fla-scotland.co.uk
In addition to the practice of Family Law, Anne is frequently appointed
by the local Sheriffs to investigate and report to the Court on disputed
child "custody cases" and has been appointed by the Sheriff
Principal as Safeguarder reporting to the Children's Panel. She is also
a Member of Reunite, the organisation of lawyers involved in advising
in international child abduction cases.

Admitted
as a solicitor in 1985, Rowena
McIntosh completed her traineeship with C&P H Chalmers (now
Ledingham Chalmers). She gained experience with two other firms before
joining Mackie & Dewar. Rowena was assumed as a partner in 1991 and
practiced there until the formation of McIntosh McTaggart.
Rowena built up a client base, initially covering a varied caseload of
reparation actions, debt recovery, sequestrations, children's panel hearings,
adoptions and family law. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland
as both a Family Law Mediator and Family Law Specialist. She is a member
of the Family Law Association and is on the panel of appointed Court Reporters,
preparing Court reports in Family cases. She tutored at Aberdeen University
in Civil Advocacy and Pleading (now Civil Court Practice), for ten years.
Rowena is regularly appointed as "curator ad litem" to children
in notably acrimonious residence and contact disputes and divorces. She
is well respected by her peers, and the Sheriffs before whom she regularly
appears. Rowena's aim, with her partner, Anne McTaggart, is to provide
an excellent service to clients, and to ensure that the practice is highly
professional and effective.
